Tesla Model 3 tire size

18 and 19 square, Performance staggered on 20s.

Tesla Model 3 tire size is square on the regular cars and staggered on Performance. 18-inch Photon wheels wear 235/45R18. 19-inch Nova wheels wear 235/40R19. Highland Performance (2024+) wears 235/35R20 in front and 275/30R20 in the rear. Mixing those two on a non-Performance car is how you invent a problem Tesla did not ship.

Stock sizes by trim

Pre-Highland Performance used a square 235/35R20 in some years and a staggered setup in others. If your car is 2018-2023 Performance, read the placard. This table is the current 2024+ set plus the two square sizes that never changed.

Why the sticker beats the chart

Tesla prints the size in the app and on the door. Use either. The important Tesla-specific rule: the Performance rear is wider on purpose. Do not "simplify" to four 235s or four 275s. AWD plus a staggered factory setup is one of the few times mixed sizes are correct. See mixing tire sizes.

This is not a fitment database

A Tesla Model 3 can leave the factory on more than one size. Export markets, mid-year packages and previous-owner plus-sizes all disagree with a chart. Read the driver-door placard. Match width, aspect ratio and rim together.

Swapping to a different size

235/45R18 is about 26.3 inches. 235/40R19 is about 26.4. 235/35R20 is about 26.5. 275/30R20 is about 26.5. Tesla held diameter so the range math and the speedometer stay still. A plus-size that breaks that band costs range and can rub the liner. Compare before you buy aftermarket 20s.

Range is the hidden spec

The 18-inch Photon package is the efficient one. The 19s and the Performance 20s cost range because they are heavier and wider, not because the diameter changed. If you only care about miles per kWh, stay on the 18. If you already have 19s, replacing them with a 235/45R18 means buying wheels too.

Frequently asked questions

What tire size does a Tesla Model 3 use?

235/45R18 on 18-inch wheels, 235/40R19 on 19-inch wheels. Performance is staggered: 235/35R20 front, 275/30R20 rear on the current car.

Can I put the same size on all four Performance corners?

Not if you want to keep the factory stagger. The rear is wider on purpose. Match the placard per axle.

Do 18s and 19s have the same diameter?

Almost. 26.3 vs 26.4 inches. That is why Tesla offers both without a speedometer conversation.
