Honda Civic tire size

LX, Sport, Si and Type R. Four stamps, four different cars.

Honda Civic tire size depends on the trim, not on the word Civic. A current LX wears 215/55R16. Sport and Si wear 235/40R18. Type R is a different stamp again, and FK8 and FL5 do not share one. The table is the recent North American list. The door sticker is the one on your car.

Stock sizes by trim

11th-gen sedans and hatches (2022+) are the rows most people need. Sport and Si share a size even though they do not share an engine. Type R is listed by generation because Honda swapped the wheel when it redesigned the car.

Why the sticker beats the chart

A Civic that has already been plus-sized will not match this table. Read the placard on the driver door, then the sidewall. If they disagree, the placard is what the speedometer was built around. Put that stamp in the calculator as the current size.

This is not a fitment database

A Honda Civic can leave the factory on more than one size. Export markets, mid-year packages and previous-owner plus-sizes all disagree with a chart. Read the driver-door placard. Match width, aspect ratio and rim together.

Swapping to a different size

LX to Sport is almost a wash on overall diameter (about 25.3 vs 25.4 inches) and a big change in width and sidewall. That is plus-two in one factory step. If you want a different look on an LX, the Sport size is the one Honda already approved for the same well. Going past that is a clearance question the plus sizing page will not answer for you.

Type R is not a Civic Sport

FK8 (2017-2021) wears 245/30R20. FL5 (2023+) wears 265/30R19. Those are wider, much shorter-sidewall tires on a car that was designed around them. Do not put a Type R size on an LX and call it a plus-size. The fender, the offset and the load rating are not the same conversation.

Frequently asked questions

What is the tire size on a Honda Civic LX?

Current 11th-gen LX: 215/55R16. Older EX trims sometimes used 215/50R17. Check the door sticker.

What size tires does a Civic Si use?

235/40R18. Same stamp as the current Sport sedan and hatch.

What is the Civic Type R tire size?

FK8 is 245/30R20. FL5 is 265/30R19. They are not interchangeable.

Can I put Sport wheels on a Civic LX?

The 235/40R18 is a Honda size for that generation. Confirm offset and bolt pattern on the wheel, and expect a firmer ride.
